Sailing

Under the guidance of licensed captains and certified instructors, campers (ages 10-14) experience the joy and challenge of sailing on the bays and inlets of the South Fork. In addition to the skills needed to pilot a 23' keelboat, campers learn the terminology used to communicate on board. Marine safety is a key component of the SummerCamp @Ross Sailing major. Each camper gets an opportunity to try all aspects of sailing from navigation and knot-tying to docking and mooring.

All campers in this major must pass a swim test. Parents must sign a liability waiver stating that campers have sufficent swimming skills to participate in this major.
