Performance Under the guidance of professional musicians, campers develop musical ability on an instrument of choice. They explore and play different styles of music, including classical, rock, jazz and other contemporary styles. There are individual and group lessons to work on technique, as well as composition, music history and performance classes. Campers have the opportunity to participate in ensembles, including chamber groups, rock band and orchestra. The major is focused on instrumental instruction, but vocal instruction is also provided for those participating in the rock band. Special guest artists including performers, composers and producers visit the campus during each of the eight weeks to share their experiences first-hand. Campers present their work at a live performance for an invited audience at the end of each four-week session. Session 1
